About me: I paint and I write -
thats my life...

www.darina-artspace.dk (works only in internet explorer, since I am very very bad at programming and I had to do the site myslef)

*escape*

I will smoke away
the remains of this solid reality
and escape
from routeen
of life’s formal banality

Saddle-up fuzzy clouds!
Leaving no tracks to trace,
I’ll break free from my doubts
and hold-on to my faith.

I am writing my vows
To this high state of grace.
Mixing sounds with colors,
Drawing softly the lines
of your delicate face...

And my other life is very very different. I am currently a master studnet in Copenhagen Business School and I am just about to gradute with major in finance and economy wooohooo - can't wait

besides that here is wat describes me:
copenhagen Jazz caffes by the water; Anais Nin; Kitesurfing; barefoot; horsemanship; uprooted; red wine; exotic pot plants; rollar scates; oriental cultures; design; do it yourself stuff; KT Tunstall; Katie Melua; Diana Washington; early-may swimming; partnesrships; dresses; candles; green tea; vegetarian; on the moove; many plans; addictive; less is more; (so probably I should stop here)

Hi danalisa, thank you very much for your comment!
The dark room was entirely done in Illustrator, using vectors (pen tool). I firstly traced a rough drawing I made by hand to help me with perspective. After that, I've played with blends and gradients to get a stronger sense of perspective rather than what I would have had by using flat colors (in this case I would have gotten smtg like the green alien). The interesting part is the skyscrapers in the background : using a gradient here wouldn't have been enough. Instead, using the blend tool in the tool palette has turned out to be very useful this time. I made the first rectangle shape of the skyscraper than I've copied and paste it, to give the depth, using two different colors (light gray and dirty white) than I used the blend tool on both shapes, selecting them both before applying the tool. The result is an interesting blend which really reminds of a 3D effect. I think works really well.
The shadow on the wall (you mean the limb reflected on the window?) is the same vector graphic as the tree with less transparency! If you mean the ceiling, it's just a gradient :)
You can get the same effects in photoshop, but if I plan to work so much with the pen tool I prefer to use Illustrator coz I hate the pen tool in photoshop :P

Hi Danalisa,

As I have gone through your work, I dont think its hard to you to understand my abstract work. I would like to see your website also, will comment shortly.

Your process of creation is also good really good...

Hey Danalisa... Thank you for your comments, I'm touched you took the time to make them*

Sure it may seem to take courage and a philosophical view on life to make a living from your art but it's your life so how would you rather live it? You just got to be stubborn!

Sorry:( I've never had a shop in Nørrebro Copenhagen...maybe they've sold some of my old prints or clothing?

Best of luck to you in everything you do***

silkscreen is when you expose an image onto a screen and run ink over it putting the image onto paper or whatever else is under the screen. it's very time and labor intensive, but it's still quite fun. it also helps you to simplify your work, and not get so involved in using effects to get a point across. you should try it some time.

perhaps the reality is imposed, what they discover in your work, which experiences and what your art samples with what pleases me that most of you, thank you for your comments and I hope that this is an invitation to continue to talk about more things
