The Bay

Kasper Rodil

alias krodil

country: Denmark

I started off by doing some pictures in Photoshop for my pc's background. Then at some point I wanted to evolve and to widen my way of working, so I shifted to C4D (3d-software).I am mostly doing 3d graphics now, mostly because I needed something more than the 2 dimensions, but also because I feel a need for making everything from scratch, so its all mine. The combination with the 2d, and 3d graphics is also very interesting, and my vision is to be able to make whatever I dream of.

The Bay

This was solely made in 3D, and it has thousands of polygons. Its made using C4D, and pot(s) of coffee.
I wanted to try making something abstract, and still give it that feel of something real. The lights role is to give dramatic shadows, but also to symbolize either a searchlight in space. The title just came while making it. I suddenly saw before my eyes an old hangar floating amongst the stars of the great unknown, and wondered how it would be to discover something like that.

great, i thought it was a submerged futuristic city, from below, at first, but your description takes it to a whole new level... daunting and powerful... Yay!
